busy week

I can hardly believe its been a week since my last post! Its been a busy week. Work hours have been crazy too. Last night I did find out that my soldier son is going to be in the states for a few more months!! Yeah but he will still probably get deployed in the summer ): But I know that is all part of it but I wish it didn't have to happen.
Tomorrow I will try to get on here and post a pic of my squares for the GAD, I've still been keeping that up and doing some other crocheting. I started something new again. lol like I needed to start something else. And I already have an idea for the next project. I really have got to get a few of the ones done that I already have going! ! !
Have a good night everyone and I see you in the daytime.
Happy Crocheting,
Tracey

GAD

Here are my squares 52 thru 57 and that will be my 3rd row for my big granny square afghan. yeah. I will be adding that when I get off of here. lol.
I'm so ready for tomorrow to get here and yes I know it is Monday, but it is also my day off ! ! ! Gotta love those kind of Mondays. But I'm ready so that I can catch up on some much needed crochet. I have two hats for friends that I need to finish ( and I'll post pics), I'd like to work on my ripple ghan, and of course do tomorrows GAD, and I have a Stitch Sampler Afghan that I have started. ( Like I needed to start anything else).
This is all I have done at the moment, but it's not top of the list to work on. I decided I'd just use my stash (and I have a lot and it will help me to meet my goal of using 72 skeins of yarn this year).
Well that's all I have to ramble on about for now, almost time to get ready for work.
Have a happy crocheting day,
Tracey

GAD, and what I'm working on

I know I didn't make it on here yesterday to show my GAD's, but wouldn't you know it I got called in to work. But I'm here now to show you. :)
And would you believe I have today's and tomorrow's photo, yes I went ahead and got tomorrow's done. :) But I wanted to get another big square done cause I got the first two rows put together, no pic yet but I wanted to get them done.
I really like the 9 patch square. I'll have to make some more of them.
I have pics of my "Squaring the Big Circle" two actually cause I'm doing it 6 squares wide and so I could only get 3 wide in the photo.
#1
And #2

The colors aren't showing up as vibrant as they should but maybe if I had a better camera. But I'm happy with the way it is turning out. I also have another one I started today. It is just something in my mind, made with granny squares, so I'm sure it will turn out nicely, but I'm going to get a little bit of it done before I post a pic. Well that's all I have to talk about today.
Have a great crocheting day,
Tracey

I'm still here

I've not gone anywhere but to work. lol, Really that is what I've been doing, today was my first day off in 9 days and I've spent most of the day catching up on things here at the house. I've still been crocheting and I will get my pics posted tomorrow. Lots of grannies to post and a few other pics of things I'm working on.

GAD, afghan, and...

I finally got a pic of all 37 GAD's, my latest afghan and a new one I started while we were traveling to go watch my son graduate from BCT and of course on the way back (while I wasn't driving). First my GAD's
I'm doing squares for 2 different ghans. The bottom 4 in the left corner are some that I've put together already with a burgundy and I'm doing the join as you go method. The big squares will be put together with a sc. I love the look of that.
Second pic is of my latest afhgan. It is a rectangle.
Now for the ghan that I started on our trip. It is a ripple that I'm doing in rainbow colors (I am really loving these colors right now).
I think this is really going to turn out nice. See the quilt top that it is laying on? Well that is one of the last ones done by my grandmother before she got to where she couldn't do it anymore. I miss my grandmother but with every crochet stitch that I make I think of her, cause she is the one that taught me how to crochet. Thank you Grandma!!
Now for my boys....
This is just the company that my son was in. There were 6 total, and about 1100 soldiers gratuating. Thank you each and everyone of ya'll for your service!!!
This is both of my boys. I'm am very proud of both of them!!!!!
Have a great day everyone,
Happy Crocheting,
Tracey

I'm BACK!!!!!

Hi Everyone,
Yes I have been away for a while but for a good reason. My oldest son graduated from Basic Training and I went to watch him (only 4 states away) but it was a long trip and a great one cause I got to spend some time with him before he had to leave for his AIT. I got some crocheting done on the way there and back (when I wasn't driving) and in the evening in the hotel room. I have some pics I will share later, I still have to get them on the computer. I have a lot of granny squares to share too. I've been keeping up with my GAD. And of course I'll post a few pics of my sons. I really didn't get a lot of pics of where we were (and it was beautiful) but our days were filled with spending time with him.

Tracey

4 GAD's and my latest afghan

First of all, here are my latest 4 GAD's. Yes there are 2 different size squares, but I'm doing 2 different afghans and I need different sizes for each of them. :) I can't do just one project at a time, never have been able to do that. lol But that way I don't get bored with the one I'm working on. It just takes a little longer to get it done. LOL
I got this done a few days ago and since my work hours have been a little crazy I haven't had much time to get online, so anyway here is my latest afghan and you guessed it, Miss Daisy is in the picture again. LOL She loves that spot on the couch and she just wasn't about to move....
I did the border in a blue and peach. Since I put the squares together with black I didn't want to do the border with black. But I think it adds character.
I have started putting my GAD's together and I using burgundy for that. I'm actually adding another round and doing the join as you go method. I haven't decided what color the border will be but I might do green, since burgundy and green go good together.
My Squaring the Big Circle afghan is coming along nicely, I've gotten a couple of rows done. I also using the join as you go method for that one too. I'll post a pic of that one in my next post.
Have a happy crocheting day,
Tracey

Some finished projects

I came across some pics of some finished projects and thought I'd share them.
This afghan was made for a friend and co-worker, it is a diagonal stitch made from the bottom corner to the top corner.
This project is a mole. It was a homework project for my youngest son, a few years ago, and yes it was legal for me to make it, but it had to be his idea. His teacher wanted a mole, it could be made anyway and it could be made by anyone, it just had to be the childs idea. So armed with a picture of a mole, this is what I came up with. And I must say it was the first crocheted mole she had ever gotten. So I let her keep it (since my son got a 100 for it) :)
This project is a circular shawl
Hope you have enjoyed these. Now it time to go crochet.
Happy Crocheting,
Tracey

Square 18 and other Crochet

Today's square is.....
I've also been working on this today, I found it in my yarn stash and it is something I started about 2 years ago and it got put away for some reason or another, so I have been putting all the squares together.
See that bump in the bottom right corner? Well here is what that is....
That is Daisy. :) She was not about to move when I put the afghan on the couch to take a picture. lol
I also found a few more finished projects but I'll just show one of them today and show more tomorrow....
Well that's all for today. I'll be back tomorrow with more and probably have a finished photo of my afghan.
Happy Crocheting,
Tracey

And here is the new scarf that I made.
I've got 6 squares put together on my "squaring the big circle" and when I get a few more put together I will post a picture. I think they are turning out nice. And I love the way the colors look. Have a great day.

week 2 of GAD and my next project

Hello everyone,
Well I got my week 2 squares done. I still haven't decided what I'm going to do with them, probably add another round of white and do the join as you go method and make an afghan. :) But anyway here is a pic.
Well now thats funny. It put the pic ahead of my post. lol

Now on to my next project. I found this last night while I was blog surfing. It can be found http://signedwithanowl.blogspot.com/2011/06/squaring-big-circle-tutorial.html

It is beautiful. And I got the first square finished last night.

I also got some more squares started. :) I dug out my soft yarn for this afghan. I am going to do the join as you go method with this one, and each square is going to be different colors. I think it is going to be very pretty.

Tracey

It's done!!

Yeah!! It's done! Well I've taken pictures but none of them seem to do it justice. Could be that my camera's not the best. Anyway here are a few pics so you can see it.
This is my crochet chair covered with the afghan. I love sitting here and crocheting.
I love that it is colorful.
And here are my squares so far for this week in granny a day.
Time to go and get something else finished. What are you working on? I think I'm going to finish one of my UFO's before I start something new, but there is lots of things I want to work on. :)
